How does one go about achieving a goal? Its a simple question but one I never really thought about. I really go thinking about this since I run a business. There are many parts to a business that create it’s success but as most owners demonstrate, including myself, is that we focus on how can we generate cash now. I want to do something that is generating cash at this very point in time.

But that’s not a business owner speaking, that is my inner employee speaking. When I was working I would go to work and it didn’t matter about the tasks I was doing because I was getting paid at the end of the day regardless. So the manager takes a look at all the things needed to do to achieve a goal then delegates the tasks. The tasks I do contribute towards this goal, but they aren’t making money right now, I might not even be able to see how its contributing effectively. Being a small business owner the number one concern is cash flow. A stupid mistake on my part.

The problem, I have lost my vision. Defining a clear vision of what you want then breaking it down into steps. It’s as simple as that. If the steps you have aren’t fun, then find another way. Sometimes if you just keep thinking of the vision, thoughts will pop into your head on which way to go. It’s amazing that the brain continually ticks over calculating these answers without bothering your conscious mind at all.

Get a clear vision, crystal clear, then the answer on how to do it will appear. Most likely causing you to hit your head thinking how come I never thought of this before.
